Considering a work from home job in 2017? Look no further!
Working from home allows many benefits, including:
- Setting your own schedule
- Not having a commute
- Wearing comfy clothes
- Spending more time with your kids
- Not having to attend boring meetings
- Being in control of your income
- and more!
I’ve been working from home for four years now and I wouldn’t trade it for anything. If you’re hoping to work from home this year, check out these top work from home jobs 2017.
Multi-Level Marketer
If you have a large network of friends, family members, coworkers, church groups, mom friends, etc., consider joining a direct sales company. They’ve really come a long way in recent years and many companies offer outstanding products. I recently purchased Rodan + Fields from another blogger and LOVED the products. My skin has never felt so smooth.
Other MLM companies to check out include:
- Avon
- ItWorks
- Plexus
- Isagenix
- Stella and Dot
- Herbalife
- Thirty-One Gifts
- Senegence LipSense (I purchased this a while back too and LOVED it. The lipstick really does last ALL DAY.)
Blogger
Blogging is without a doubt the BEST way to make money from home! I make $2,000+ each month with very little work. BUT…if you need money fast, this is not the way to get there!!!
Here is my FREE guide on how to start a blog in three easy steps! >>
If you’re willing to put in hours and days and weeks and months of work and in return get a huge payoff years down the line, please, PLEASE consider starting a blog. Starting this blog was one of the best things I’ve ever done. I’ve been blogging now for 2 1/2 years and am consistently making $2,000+ each month (you can view my latest income report here). I made my first $100 after five months, and then consistently starting making money about one year in. And now I only blog for maybe two hours a week. It’s really the best way to make money from home (in my opinion!).
If you decide you want to start a blog, use my tutorial here. Then, send me an email or leave a comment and I’ll send you a copy of my book – The Beginner’s Guide to Blogging – for free!
Freelancer
Are you good at writing, editing, designing, illustrating, copywriting, SEO, photography, or any other specialty niche you can do online? If so, freelancing is a fantastic way to make money from home. And no, I’m not just talking about making side money. You an actually make a GOOD full-time income as a freelancer.
If you want to learn more about freelancing, check out my six tips for brand new freelancers. Here, I share tips on how to find jobs, what to charge, what courses to consider taking, and more!
eBook Writer and Course Creator
If you want to write novels or quick how-to books, write an eBook. I wrote my eBook using Microsoft Word, saved it as a PDF, and uploaded it to Gumroad. Yup, that’s it. Gumroad takes a percentage of all my sales, but I didn’t have to pay an upfront fee to get my book published.
Or, you can write a course to teach others something that you’re good at. I just wrote and released a course on making money as a web hosting affiliate. The course was written for bloggers and teaches them specifically how to make more money through their web hosting company as an affiliate.
There are courses on everything, though. You could write a course on meal planning, gardening, blogging, simplifying, budgeting, parenting, marriage, and more. Think about what you’re good at and consider using your skills to help others!
I used Teachable to write and sell my course. I have the free plan and again pay them a percentage of any of my sales.
If you are going to write eBooks and courses, I recommend having your own blog so you can advertise your products. Start a blog based around what your products will be so you can grow a following and make more sales.
Start a Service Business
Service businesses include babysitting, pet sitting/dog walking, preparing meals for others, starting a handyman business, or even doing other people’s laundry. That’s right – you can actually make money from home by doing laundry.
Laundry Care is a nationwide company helping busy families and working professionals gain back more time in their days by taking care of all their laundry needs. If you don’t mind doing laundry, considering joining their network of laundry providers and start making money from home! You’ll receive 24/7 support from the Laundry Care team if you have questions, freedom and flexibility to choose the area you work in and set your own schedule, and never have to worry about billing clients or updating a website.
A friend of mine cooks food for family and friends as an extra form of income. Her clients love it because they get healthy, affordable meals made for them weekly; she loves it because she is able to bring in extra income each and every week by doing something she loves.
There are dozens of ways to make money in the service industry from home. Write down things you’re good at and enjoy doing, and see what ideas you can come up with.
Find a Telecommute Job
Perhaps you don’t want to start your own business or work in the service industry. A huge advantage of continuing to work for a large employer is you’ll receive benefits, healthcare, 401K plans, paid time-off, and more. While your income potential is a more capped (bloggers and freelancers, for example, have no limit to the amount of money they can earn), you don’t have to build anything from scratch. To see a list of 100 companies hiring telecommuters, check out this Forbes article.
And finally, if you are just looking to make a few extra bucks each month, consider taking online surveys. You can view the best survey sites of 2017 here.
