You guys, I have something special that I’m in the process of creating for you.
I am creating a guide for beginner bloggers that will help you navigate the world of blogging. This is the guide that I wish I had. And I’m not just going to “remember” what I did as far as getting my blog set up, I’m going to purchase another domain name and take detailed notes to share with you on what you need to do after purchasing your hosting and domain name. You know, the technical, nitty-gritty stuff. I can’t tell you how many times I stared at this screen when I first started my blog. I didn’t know what to do, yet at the same time I felt very overwhelmed on all that I could do. It’s confusing, and my book will show you what to do in an easy, step-by-step process.
The Beginner’s Guide to Blogging: What It Will Include
- How to choose the right theme for your blog and get it up and running
- The technical stuff when it comes to setting up your blog
- How to monetize your blog from DAY ONE
- What pages you need to create right off the bat, and how to create them
- How to get your sidebar organized and what you should include on it
- 20+ blog prompts for your first month or two of posts so you never run out of ideas (including posts that you can make money on right away)
- AND MORE!!!!
This guide is intended for those of you that started a blog within the past six months or have just purchased your domain name and hosting.
The guide is going to be released on Tuesday, January 12th, 2016. Mark your calendars!! Here’s how it’s going to work:
- FREE for Brand New Bloggers: Purchase your blog domain and hosting through my Bluehost link (your domain is FREE and hosting is just $3.49 per month through my link!!) either now or in January, and you will receive my guide FOR FREE!!!!
- FREE for Bloggers Who Purchased a Blog through My Link Already: If you’ve already purchased your domain and hosting through my link (either last week or last year), I will email you my guide on January 12th! So, if you want to get started with your blog before the holidays, feel free to purchase it now and you’ll get my guide on January 12th in your email.
A quick note: I am notified of new domain names when a blog is purchased through my Bluehost link. However, please send me an email with your domain name and email address directly so I have it on file.
- For All Bloggers: If you already have a domain name and hosting, but would like to use my guide as a resource, you can purchase it from me starting on January 12th. Price TBD.
Since the guide is not yet completed, I would love it if you would comment and let me know what you would like to see in this guide! I’ve read a lot of “Beginning Blogging” books and articles and I want mine to be different. It’s going to include exclusive information that took me months to learn, it’s going to be easy-to-read and refer to, and best of all it’s going to get you set up on the right foot for blogging success!
If you’ve been wondering if you should take the leap and start your own blog, now is absolutely the time! I have a goal of making $10K per month within one year (October 2016) and I would love it if you hopped on this challenge with me! Even if you don’t want to be a professional blogger, you can create a blog and use it as your portfolio to land online jobs, such as writing, being a virtual assistant, designing and more. The world is online and it looks as though most jobs are headed in that direction. There is no better time than now to make your presence KNOWN in the online space!
So, to get in on this, determine what type of blog you want to create and sign up through Bluehost (you can read my tutorial on How to Start a Blog which will walk you through setting up Bluehost), then email me (sbrooks52111 @ yahoo.com) saying you signed up and what your blog domain is. I will then get you on the list for my blogging guide which will be released on January 12th, 2016!!
Good morning Sarah!
Woohoo, I am so excited for your eBook! I know it’s going to be a great resource for so many who are starting out and feeling overwhelmed by how much information is out there and just don’t know where to begin.
So thrilled for you!! 🙂
Christina
Thanks for the support, Christina!!! Couldn’t have done this without you!! 🙂
This is great, Sarah 🙂 I launched my blog in January 2015 and I had no idea what I was doing! But now just 10 months later, I love it, it has turned into being my online business that brings in decent income and is such a blessing to my family. Honestly, having a blog is wonderful and I am sure your guide will help so many new bloggers out there!
YAY!! Congrats on already producing an income from your blog!!! Looks like you should write a book, too 🙂
This is a fabulous list of tips! Starting a blog off right is so key to not having to switch providers, domains, or design later on!
Hi Daisy!! I totally agree with that! I’ve had a few blogspot blogs but am so happy I went the right way with this blog. I can’t imagine having to switch everything over!!
I would TOTALLY buy it. I need help marketing. I already bought a domain name through namecheap and hosting through them too. I have been blogging since Oct. 12th, so I just need help on how to get things going and bringing/keeping readers.
You mentioned going on Pinterest so I’m going to start that this week. What else may I do besides social media, commenting and guest posting? Should I buy ads? Should I go with passionfruit ads? Should I trademark my domain name with the U.S. copyright office?
Blogging in a way seems like the real world where everyone is a bit cliquey (totally understandable) so how can a newbie get a foot in the door? I know that cliques exist everywhere and it’s the way of the world but I also know the world is full of good people too.
I really want my blog to workout because I want to be a writer and have my own business. I’ve seen so many blogs come and go. I think it’s going to be even more competitive in the next 5-10 years. I’m a sophomore in college so I really want to get things going so by the time I graduate I can have options.
I wish I started a blog in college!!! You are so smart to be doing it now!! Definitely utilize Pinterest as that is a HUGE source of traffic for many bloggers! Join Group boards (you can search group boards in the Pinterest search bar at the top!) and create your own boards, too. Then, start pinning your own content and other people’s content! Once you have a lot of content on your blog and are a part of a lot of group boards, you’ll probably want to purchase Tailwind to help with the scheduling so you don’t have to spend hours per day pinning 🙂
I would also install Google Adsense on your blog! It’s totally free and will generate income right away (not much, but as your blog grows, so will your ad income!).
Let me know if you have more questions!!
These are all great tips! I’d so purchase your book, your advice is always so helpful!
Aww thanks for the support, Shirria!!!
Omg!! I’m so excited for this guide i been reading your blog since May and I totally love it. I want to create a blog but is a lot of information that sometimes is confusing especially the technical side, and at the same time is intimidating there are so many good bloggers to choose from, that I’m afraid nobody is going to read my blog if I ever decide to create one.
Hi Chely!! I definitely think you should try it!! It DOES take time to grow a blog for sure, but it’s also really fun and you’ll make friends in the process 🙂 And I believe everyone can make money from a blog. Some make it faster than others, but if you can commit to blogging for at least a year or so you will definitely start seeing some money coming in! Let me know if you have more questions!!
Awesome new Sarah! I wish I had something like that when I first started blogging.
Oh I know me too!!! That’s what I’m hoping it will be is a guide strictly for the newbies!
Sounds exciting! I hope it’s a success for you. It’s nice to know we have so many valuable helps at our fingertips.
Thanks Stefani!! Appreciate the support!
I think the blog prompts will help new bloggers. Maybe some instructions about how to keep generating ideas too. Or heck, become an affiliate and mention the course “Write a Blog People Will Read” by Donna Freedman. Who is, full disclosure, my mom. But she’s been blogging for about 10 years, starting with several years at MSN Money and knows what she’s talking about.
I think overall you’ve got the necessary topics covered there.
Awesome idea! I will check her book out! And I was definitely planning on sharing some affiliate info in the book! 🙂
