Big News: I’m Starting a New Blog

new blog

I’ve been blogging here at the frugal millionaire for more than a year! I absolutely love this blog and the opportunities that it has given me (See How Blogging Changed My Life), but…I also have a huge passion for blogging about topics beyond personal finance. Lately, between my blog, freelancing and my full-time job, it seems as though I live and breathe finance. That’s not a bad thing, but I want more.

I debated adding more categories to this blog, but the truth of the matter is I am just not feeling this blog name anymore and I want to start from scratch. I’ve learned so SO much this first year of blogging and I want to apply all that knowledge to a new, exciting small business/blog I’m creating.

So, I’ve purchased a new domain name and am in the process of getting it ready for launch. Realistically, it will launch in February or March. By the time it launches, I want to have subscribers, posts and a newsletter ready to go. I want content right away, which is why I’m delaying my launch.

For now, I’m keeping my blog name a secret (however, it is included in my book, so those of you that purchase it will know my name early!). I will announce the name on this blog within the month, though, so stay tuned!

But what about the frugal millionaire?

This blog is not going anywhere! I love this blog and the personal finance community it’s allowed me to connect with. But, as I said above, I’m not feeling the personal finance aspect and don’t want to be limited to what I can write about. I want to write more about parenting, marriage, creating a purposeful life, setting goals, starting businesses, traveling, and more, and my new blog will encompass all of this. It’s me, through and through, and I am just so excited to be embarking on this new journey.

I still plan on updating this site regularly and pouring my heart and soul into it, but I need more.

So, keeping this post nice and sweet today! I hope everyone is having an excellent week and working toward their 2016 goals (my main one which is rest, and I’ve been doing plenty of that!).

I’m so excited for your new blog! I know exactly what you mean about being overloaded with finance, haha. I’ve thought about starting another site as well but I just need to get more time first. Can’t wait for more details from you 🙂

So excited for you!! And I feel privileged to already know your new blog’s name!! 🙂 For those of you reading this — Sarah’s new blog is going to be AMAZING! I personally am chomping on the bit for her to officially launch it. It’s worth buying her book just to find out the details!

So, I’m one of the lucky one’s who’ll get to find out your new blog name ahead of time since I pre-ordered your book….Lol! Congrats!

P.S. Here’s a newbie question for you…. How will you start out with subscribers to your new blog before it actually launches?

Great question!! And I cover that in my book! But there is a plugin you can download EZP Coming Soon Page and that creates a “Coming Soon” page on your domain prior to launch and it has a box for people to subscribe! You can then download that list into MailChimp or whatever newsletter service you use! Pretty awesome!! And free and easy!

Congrats! I’ve been contemplating the same thing. I started Goal Digging to Happiness for accountability but I have a niche that I feel would be way more profitable for me and sooner. I’m currently developing a plan to get mine up and running to diversify my online income and generate more sooner (hopefully).

Anyhow I can’t wait. With two blogs you should meet (but probably exceed) your 10k/month goal!

Hi Shirria!! That’s awesome you want to start a new blog, too! You can apply the knowledge you’ve learned from your current one and I’m sure the new one will be successful sooner! That’s my hope anyways, haha 🙂 I actually already have a second blog (becomeafreelancewriter.com) but I haven’t updated it in almost a year. But there are so many niches to choose from, I feel like I’ll end up with like 10 blogs at some point LOL. Best of luck to you!!!
