Congratulations on your book! I’ve been following your blog for a while, but am just now starting to comment more 🙂 Your book sounds great. I already have my domain & hosting, and my theme installed. Where I’m getting stuck is getting the actual structure of my blog set up. I get confused between the difference in a category and a menu. Also, when people refer to primary and secondary navigation menus…. Aahh! My mind starts to hurt! There is definitely a learning curve just for WordPress alone. It’s easy to get frustrated even before you publish your first post.

atHi Carrie!! Yes that is exactly why I created this book!! It is SO confusing for people who have never done this before, and most bloggers make it seem really easy. Fortunately, it is easy once you know how to do it…but initially seeing it is like trying to figure out a foreign language. So, once you create your pages, click “Appearance” and “Menu” to structure your menu how you want. Just drag your recently added pages over to the new menu you create and save! Make sure “Primary Menu” is selected, as that’s the menu that will show up at the top of your page. A secondary menu is just a new menu that will show up beneath the primary one. It’s useful if you have a lot of “Pages” that you want to display. Feel free to email specific questions!! I’m by no means a pro– but I’ve definitely spent my fair share of time trying to figure all this out haha!! And what’s your blog domain name?! Good luck!!!!

atThank you SO much, Sarah! You basically just explained to me in about 15 seconds what I’ve been trying to figure out for a long time. It just wasn’t making sense to me. Needless to say I’ll be pre-ordering your book! 🙂 My domain name is sidehustleincome.com. I have my theme installed but don’t have any posts up yet. I just have the demo content uploaded so I can try and see where things go. I’m a mom of 4 kids ages 14 to 1, so I will probably build the site in 15 minute increments at a time….Lol! Congratulations again on your book. I love supporting fellow entrepreneurs!
