How to Create an eBook that Sells

How to create an eBook that sells. Drive traffic to your eBook and make passive income!

Have an idea for an eBook and looking to make some passive income? Here’s how to create an eBook the easy way, market it effectively and make money.

I wrote my first eBook early last year and still make sales every single week. It’s a short, 34-page guide on blogging for beginners. It only sells for $12, but each sale adds up and it’s a nice form of passive income.

While I’m by no means an expert on creating eBooks, I do know the steps to create one. And, it’s really a lot easier than it seems. If you have an idea for an eBook but feel overwhelmed by the process, keep reading as I’m here to simplify this for you.

Tips on Streamlining Your Life and Business

Mamas!

Do you feel overwhelmed at times? Whether you work or stay home, having kids while maintaining a house, cooking, cleaning, running errands, keeping up with school functions and more can take its toll. Add in working full-time or working for yourself, and you’ve most certainly got your hands full.

Tips on streamlining your life and your business. Looking for some ways to simplify your life, get more done and not feel so overwhelmed all the time?! Me too. As a full-time working mom to two toddlers (and a small business owner), I am sharing my tips on how to streamline both your life and your business.

I’m a working mom of two toddlers (and one on the way!). While I’m incredibly thankful that my schedule is flexible and allows me to mostly work from home, I do still put in a good 40 hours per week at the ‘ol office job. I also try my best to keep up with this blog, make sure my kids have clean laundry and get food on the table each night. If I were to be completely honest, the dinner part is my biggest struggle. We always eat, of course, but I don’t always have a plan and we sometimes have eggs, chicken nuggets, yogurt, or a combination of the aforementioned.

Eventually, I would like my blog to become my full-time business. With a baby on the way, this probably won’t happen for a few years, but I’m hopeful nonetheless. I wanted to provide anyone who might be in the same situation with some tips on how I am currently streamlining my life and my business for future (and current) success.

It’s book launch day!

My first ever book, The Beginner’s Guide to Blogging, is now available for sale! To say I’m excited is an understatement. This book was a labor of love for sure, and if nothing else I hope it is an excellent resource for all newbie bloggers. I even created my own brand new blog and domain name (announcement on that is in the book, and an announcement on this blog will be coming soon!) so I could use myself as a “test” when walking readers through the process of getting their blogs up and running.

It’s full of quick, actionable, easy-to-follow instructions on getting your blog up and running. Once you purchase your hosting and domain name, you’ll be staring at a blank screen known as WordPress that will look confusing to new eyes. I remember my experience like it was yesterday.

“What do I do first?”

“How do I get my blog to look how I want it to?”

“How do I create an “About Me” page?”

“How do I even write a post?!”

All of these seemingly easy things can take hours and hours to figure out if you’re a newbie. That is why I created my book. Follow the directions and you’ll have a beautiful blog ready to go in no time.

And, in addition to getting your blog set up, I’m showing you how to start monetizing your blog from day 1, giving you 21 blog prompt ideas to get you going, sharing your “must have” pages and posts if you want to keep readers around and make money, and more!

And guess what?!

The Beginner’s Guide to Blogging is now available for pre-order! It will be released on January 12, 2016.

But…there is a way you can get my book FOR FREE.

If you haven’t yet purchased your domain name and hosting, and do so through my Bluehost link, I will give you a copy of my book completely for free! No strings attached! That’s right – if you’ve been wanting to start a blog but have been putting it off, perhaps this is the incentive you need to get going! And, as always, I am here to help you along the way and answer any questions.

If you want to purchase your blog through my Bluehost link but need help, head over to my “Start a Profitable Blog” page where I will walk you through it!

And, as always, thank you for your support! I truly believe that all of us bloggers are in this together. If you want to get in on blogging and start making money from home, not to mention form incredible relationships with other bloggers, you have to start a blog! The connections I’ve formed and the friends I’ve made are what have made this journey so incredible. I want the same for you, and I want to help you get there!

Book Review: The Girl on the Train

girl on trainAs most of you know, I took some time off from work and blogging for our vacation in Arizona. Getting back into the swing of things as a freelancer took some time – I was waiting on clients to give me work again and I was trying to get myself back into blogging mode. As of late last week, things are back to normal on the work-front and I feel more motivated than ever with this blog.

Anyways, early last week I had some downtime. I knew I didn’t have much work so I decided to purchase The Girl on the Train by Paula Hawkins.

Book Review: How to Blog for Profit Without Selling Your Soul

blog for profit book reviewI’ve spent the last week reading Ruth Soukup’s How to Blog for Profit Without Selling Your Soul (affiliate link). I probably could have read it in a day if it weren’t for the little ones, but her book is chock-full of information so I’m glad I read it in sections and had time to digest what I was learning.

For those of you who don’t know, Ruth blogs over at popular personal finance / family lifestyle blog Living Well Spending Less. She blogs on a variety of topics ranging from freezer cooking (something I’m hoping to get into in the coming weeks) to couponing to fun DIY projects you can do with the kids. Her blog is all-encompassing and she’s been at it since 2010, so she definitely knows a thing or two about blogging and how to profit from it.

A simple formula on net worth

bookI mentioned before that I was wanting to read Thomas Stanley’s The Millionaire Next Door. Well, today I took my girls to the bookstore so they could play and I could do some reading. Sure enough, they had this book and I couldn’t wait to dive in! While I only got to read a few chapters, I did come across one very interesting formula on calculating how much net worth you should have…

Book Recommendation: Get Rich Click

I picked up Get Rich Click at the library a few weeks ago. It sat on my desk until this morning when I picked it up. I could not stop reading this book and in fact just finished it this evening. I’ll be honest – I’m not really a book reader. I prefer to find information online, haha (don’t we all?).

Anyways, Get Rich Click is written by Marc Ostrofsky and is described as “the ultimate guide to making money online”. I originally checked it out because I thought it would pertain to blogging. While I’m not looking to make any money off this blog right now, I do have high hopes for it in the future. My goal is to fill my head with as much information on monetizing my blog before I begin to actually make money on it. Right now, I want to focus on producing quality content. With 2 little ones and a freelancing career, I expect this to take me at least 6 months.

Ok…got off on a tangent. The book doesn’t really talk about how to make money from blogging specifically, but it more discusses the various ways you can make money online (and WOW – there are SO MANY). For example, you can sell some else’s product for a small fee, generate leads to websites and get paid for each lead, purchase domain names (also known as “internet real estate”), sell products as a third-party vendor (this allows you to not carry inventory) and more. If you’re selling a product yourself, the book also says it’s wise to purchase a few different domain names that all link back to your parent product. This is a way to drive in more sales. For example, Barnes and Noble owns Books.com. Purchasing from Books.com means Barnes and Noble gets credit for the sale. You with me?

So, I highly recommend this book. If you’re looking to make an income online, grow your blog (it does mention 16 great ways to gain traffic to your website of blog) or just learn more about the never-ending income opportunities provided online, look no further. Though Get Rich Click was written in 2011, I personally found the information extremely valuable!!

Have you read any good books lately? I’m also starting an eBook on growing your blog! Stay tuned for a review on that!
