Happy Friday!! I don’t know about you, but this week definitely flew by!! My husband had the first few days off of work which was SO NICE. I cannot express how nice it is having an extra set of hands around here so I can get ahead on work.
Since he works for himself, he does have times that he’s slower and it’s not by choice. We’ve been very fortunate since moving to NC and he’s been booked pretty solid two weeks to a month in advance. That ended this past week and he had nothing on the books set in stone. While normally I would have been panicking, I’m much more confident in both him and our financial situation. We save for times like this and I have full faith in my husband that he will find more work. Sure enough, he got work for Thursday, Friday and Saturday…plus has the next few weeks booked up. Now when he’s randomly off, we take advantage of extra time with our family, we run errands and get caught up on doctor’s appointments and we cook more!
So, in some other exciting news – we’ve decided to get the girls enrolled in a part-time daycare program. I’ve come to the conclusion that if I really want to grow a business while being a mom, I need some help. I’m currently able to do what I do with them home, but since I’m looking to increase my workload it just makes sense that I get them enrolled in a program. I’m excited for new opportunities with work and I’m happy my girls will get some fun socialization a few days a week in a loving environment!
Speaking of working from home, today I’m over at Wealth Gospel discussing 5 Ways to manage being a work-from-home mom. If you work from home with kids, or even are just at home with kids, I have some good tips that I’ve been using for the past 2 1/2 years to help me stay organized and get things done!
Happy Friday, everyone! I have some great posts lined up for next week and can’t wait to share them!
That’s so great that you were able to find a daycare that has a part-time option. I think once my daughter turns 1 this summer it’s something I’d like to look more into as well. It would be good for me to be able to get work done during that designated time, and definitely good for her to get the social interaction. I’m sure your girls will have a blast making new friends!
Thanks Christina!! It was really hard for me to just sign up and do it. I’ve literally been considering day care since my oldest was one, which was over 1 1/2 years ago! I’ve looked at dozens of places and just never went for it. The place I found is super super close to my house which I like and the staff is awesome. I feel confident they are in good hands!! I will keep you posted on how it goes! Good luck to you when you start looking at options, too!!
Thanks Sarah! That is wonderful, I’m looking forward to an update once you get settled into your new schedule with them in daycare a few hours a week. Should be interesting to see how much more work you’ll be able to fit into your day!
I think it’s great that you’re getting your girls into a program so you can focus more. It’s hard to focus on anythign when your little ones are around!
Oh my gosh I know!!! I have to do all of my writing either before they wake, when they nap (which can be very short-lived haha) or at night, which I don’t prefer to do. I kinda figure if I want to grow my writing career, I NEED more time haha!
I can imagine taking care of the girls at home alone while you also have to work can be a bit overwhelming. Part time day care will definitely help a lot! It’s also good for them so they can make new friends their age.
Yes! Thanks for the encouragement!! I’m nervous for my youngest (16 months) since she’s super super attached to me, but I know my oldest will have a BLAST! Plus, it’s only going to be three hours a few days a week, so they’ll survive haha 🙂
You’re definitely right about the socialization aspect! I used to be super opposed to daycare, but now I realize kids love having new playmates!
