Welcome to December’s blogging income report! I’m excited to share both this month’s income AND my yearly income from the blog. Let’s get started.
Ready to make money online in 2017?!
Earning an income online is becoming more and more popular. Whether you’re wanting to make extra money each month or you’re hoping to replace your (and/or your spouse’s) full-time income, let this be your year to make money online.
There are many, many ways to make money online. Below, I’m outlining the best ways so you, too, can start making money online immediately!
But before we get started, let’s list out the specific reasons you want to make money online and what your long-term goals are. For me, it looks like this:
- Save more money each month (this is reason #1)
- Pay extra toward our mortgage (this is our only debt as my online income was able to pay off our SUV last year)
- Take family vacations more often
- Replace my full-time income (2017 end-of-year goal)
- Replace my husband’s full-time income (long-term goal)
Now, let’s get started. Below is my ultimate guide to make money online in 2017!
Happy December 🙂 I cannot believe November is over. My little baby is almost six weeks old, and I’m about to head back to work in just a few weeks. Time really flies!!
I’m happy to report that November is now my BEST MONTH EVER when it comes to making money blogging. Blogging has really been a labor of love for me. I started blogging in September 2014 and am just now (a full two years later) making really good money. I kind of feel like it could all just end at any moment, but I’m trying to stay positive!! 🙂
I have a 4-year-old, a 3-year-old, and a newborn baby who just turned one month. I’m by no means “super mom,” nor do I try to be. However, I am able to still find time to blog, keep up with the housework and find some time for myself. Today, I’m sharing my secrets on how to accomplish this!
Whether you’ve been blogging for years but are struggling with time management or if you’re a mom who’s debating starting a blog, this post is for you!

I think it’s safe to say that working moms would enjoy the possibility of being a stay-at-home mom if it meant keeping their lifestyle the same. I personally am one of those crazy people who actually enjoys my full-time job, but I’d be lying if I said I didn’t even consider what it would be like to stay home.
Here’s the thing, though. I think the majority of us working moms would miss having “something for ourselves.” We’d miss contributing to the family financially, and we’d definitely miss socializing with other adults (big one for me!!). If this is exactly how you feel, keep reading.
Freelance writing – to me – is one of the best jobs out there. Many of my friends are making six figures a year as freelance writers. They’ve quit their full-time jobs, their husbands have possibly quit their full-time jobs, and they’re able to work on their own terms and set their own schedule. Need to take kids to the doctor? Have a sick baby? Need to help with homework and cook dinner? Done, done and done; all without having to ask your boss for PTO.
I have been freelance writing for over four years, though I’ll admit I don’t do a ton of it anymore. In fact, the only jobs I take on now are ones that pay $300+ per article. While I do get a few that come my way, the income isn’t consistent. Reason being is I do have a full-time job that I enjoy and I just had my third little baby girl 🙂 I’m also focusing more on increasing my blogging income for the time being.
You can read my latest income report where I show you how I made over $1,700 blogging here! >>
However, that doesn’t mean I don’t know how to get freelance jobs 🙂 Back in the day, I was making a consistent $2,000-$3,000/month with two little toddlers at home. I would estimate I worked about 15 hours per week to make that. Here, I’m sharing the fastest and easiest way to break into freelance writing.
How is it possible that October is already over?! October was a great month – and I’m not just talking about income. We welcomed our third baby girl into the world on October 24, 2016! Hallie is amazing and an absolute dream baby. My older girls love her so much and she is just the perfect addition to our family. I’ll probably do a whole post on her soon, so stay tuned.

Alright, let’s dive right in to my October blogging income report.
Happy October! It’s income report time!
I cannot believe September is over. October is my favorite month of the year, and this year, it’s even more near and dear to my heart because it’s BABY MONTH!! Our third little girl is due on Halloween 🙂
And I am ready! This pregnancy hasn’t been “hard” per se, but nearing the end is always a challenge. My stomach is so big (baby girl is measuring two weeks ahead, which could mean a bigger baby or extra fluid, but either way my belly is large, haha) and it’s been hard trying to keep up with my other two little girls. Thankfully, my husband has been an incredible support system and helper.
My parents are coming into town in just a couple of weeks and then I’ll be starting my maternity leave! When I had my first baby, I had recently quit my job and was just getting started with freelancing. With my second baby, I was knee-deep in freelance writing and had just accepted a job as an editor (from home). This time, I’ll have no “real” obligations other than my blog, which is my all-time favorite hobby/side gig that I’m super excited to be able to spend more time on. Lots of exciting things to come your way, including the launch of my very first course!
Alright, let’s take a look at September’s online income report.
Once you’ve started a blog, chosen your theme and developed some content, the next step is figuring out how to increase your blog traffic.
While some blogs seem to grow overnight, please, please keep your expectations real and know that it can take years to develop a large following. It also takes time for search engines to recognize your blog and start ranking your posts.
When it comes to blogging, you should be spending 20% of your time writing and 80% of your time promoting your content. That took a while to sink in for me. When I first started my blog two years ago, I focused on creating good, quality content. I didn’t really promote it other than one Tweet, a few pins and a Facebook share.
Now, however, I’ve revamped that older content and I share it all the time. Pinterest is my biggest strategy for getting traffic to my blog, and it’s because of Tailwind that it’s possible. Tailwind allows me to schedule out my pins (I’m currently pinning 100 per day! There’s no way I could do that manually!!) weeks in advance. Our baby girl is due in 6 weeks and I plan on getting fully scheduled out the month after she is born.
Below are 10 specific ways to increase your blog traffic immediately.
